Gunner est en couverture du magazine Ryze-Up du mois de Juillet. Il y fait également une interview. Je vous propose la version anglaise que je vous traduirai certainement début de semaine prochaine.
On getting his start in pro wrestling:
"Thank you for this opportunity first off I will start by saying at/am living my dream. Since I was 5 years old I wanted to be a professional wrestler I grew up in hickory NC and it's really all I ever wanted in life. I never cared for high school sports or anything, all I wanted was to be a wrestler / started in 2000 right out of high school. I was trained by a local guy by the name of Tommy Burch. He took me under his wing so to speak and we traveled many many hours together to towns all over - GA, NC, SC and Tennessee just to name a few Even with my time in the Marine Corp from 2002 to 2006 I traveled every weekend -20 hour round trips for weekend shows, where the pay at times, was literally nothing. Paying dues is what it takes in any profession and hard work."
On training while touring:
"I get asked that a lot. Training is brutal. I have respect for all athletes, no matter what we do we all train hard to get where we are. As far as pro wrestling goes, being with TNA (Impact wrestling) the schedule is intense. We fly into a town, drive to the show and then drive to the next town. In that time I still have to diet and find time to work out 6 days a week in the gym no matter how I feel It's a very physical sport that a lot of folks don't understand or respect The body gets beat up but in the end I still have to push myself I have one goal in this business and it's to be the best. I'm pretty sure guys like that are considered the greatest in pro wrestling, guys like Bret Hart, Hulk Hogan, Rick Flair AJ Styles, they don't have excuses. They trained hard to get there, and that's what it's about"
On his personal life:
"To be honest, my wife and step son are what drive me every day to succeed She really is my back bone. Her and I met in 2008 and married in 2012. Ever since the day we met she has been my best friend I am definitely blessed by God to have a strong wife. It's a hard life for a wife due to me traveling and being gone a lot but she does it."
